Cocoa trees typically grow in the equatorial tropical forests that are found in the Americas, Asia and Africa. After much research we finally chose the cocoa bean from Ecuador for its intensity and surprising note of hazelnut.
The bitterness of the chocolate is not dependent on the darkness of the colour of the cocoa bean. Our chocolate from Ecuador is actually smoother in taste than our Amorino flavour even though this one is darker in colour.
