Always enjoy flying into and out of Rome. Great airport...lots of nice restaurants. Had a piano for anyone to play and there was an artist playing for the crowd. Very well kept and managed!

We had our flight from this airport, Terminal 1 to Delhi, it was Italian Airways flight. The terminal is very huge and there are a lot of shops here. Big brands have their outlets here. The checkin and baggage drop was seamless and fast. We could also do last minute shopping and pickups. Only negative was crowd management i would say can be better, there are shortage of places to sit or wait. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Rome Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci International) is hands down one of the best airports I’ve traveled through. It’s beautifully designed with modern flooring, sleek architecture, and a well-thought-out layout that makes it incredibly easy to navigate. Whether you’re a frequent flyer or a first-time visitor, everything is clearly marked, and getting around is effortless. One of the highlights for me is the incredible selection of shops and dining options. From high-end Italian fashion brands like Gucci and Bottega Veneta to duty-free stores with a fantastic selection, shopping here is an experience in itself. The dining options are equally impressive, whether you’re craving fresh Italian cuisine, sushi, or even a quick coffee and pastry, there’s something for everyone. They even have a huge Verdi gelateria!!!!! They also have a huge section for co-working only. They have indoor playgrounds and pianos. Beyond the aesthetics and amenities, the efficiency of this airport is worth mentioning. Security and passport control are well-organized and move quickly, making connections and departures stress-free. The airport is also impeccably clean, with plenty of comfortable seating and charging stations available. Overall, Fiumicino combines luxury, efficiency, and Italian hospitality seamlessly. It’s not just a transit hub, it’s an experience, and one I actually look forward to every time I fly through Rome.

The airport has got 3 terminals, a few but each one is only a few metres away. If you're flying from E gates, you pass 3 different duty-free zones, which I have founded a bit over the top. There are plenty of food courts with plenty of choices at reasonable prices. The airport is large with plenty of seating with charges attached to them. Water fountains are inside the toilets. Overall, it was a good airport with a very speedy check-in and security it was fast, and you don't need to remove tablets or liquids.

Terminal 1 & 3 at Fiumicino Airport - a mixed experience. The airport is massive and clearly handles thousands of passengers at once, but the experience leaves much to be desired. Signage is confusing and poorly placed - even basic things like finding toilets or gate directions require effort. The overall clarity and logic of layout just isn’t there. Service is painfully slow in many places, especially in cafés and restaurants. The Eatery, in particular, is almost absurdly sluggish - which feels counterintuitive at an airport, where timing is everything. Even the placement of flight information screens feels unintuitive and scattered. One of the most frustrating aspects: it’s nearly impossible to just grab a bottle of water or a Coke and a magazine or newspaper in the main zone. You’re forced to dig deep into Terminal 1’s A section to find anything resembling a normal convenience store. It feels so deliberate - like a strategy to funnel you into restaurants just to get water. A bit too obvious, and honestly irritating. But… there was one magical moment: someone sat down at the piano and played Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude like a virtuoso. The entire crowd stopped, listened, and applauded. That moment - spontaneous, human, and brilliant - almost made up for everything else.
