Amorino is a global chain that first began in 2002 in Paris. The co-founders, a pair of childhood friends, decided to bring the taste of fine Italian gelato to Parisians. Since then, Amorino has opened numerous locations all around the globe, including this one in San Francisco's Downtown. Amorino is best known for their gelato that can be shaped into their iconic rose. If you want an extra sweet treat, then top it off with a gelato-filled macaron, just like a cherry on a sundae. Aside from their frozen delights, Amorino also offers a variety of hot and cold drinks. We came here after a birthday dinner in the area looking for a sweet treat to round off our night. They had so many flavors to chose from that were all tempting, but fortunately I was still pretty full from dinner and was kept in check. I decided on a small size gelato in a cup with the flavors of yogurt and pistachio. I'm always a fan of pairing tart fruity flavors with rich creamy ones to balance them out - and this combination was a win! The yogurt was crisp and refreshing, while the pistachio was deep and earthy. If you're looking for high-quality flavor-forward gelato, then Amorino is definitely the stop for you!

We stumbled upon this place right next to our hotel a few weeks back and were thrilled to take advantage of the 10% discount for hotel guests (just show your room card or mention it at the register, easy!). Walking in, the ordering process is a little unclear, even after two visits, I'm still not 100% sure of the "right" way to do it, lol. But don't let that stop you! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and while the indoor area is a bit cozy, I love that you have options so you're not stuck outside when the weather isn't cooperating. Now, onto the good stuff - the gelato! My go-to is Stracciatella and I happily stuck with it both visits. My first time, I was in a bit of a rush (checkout waits for no one!) so I went with a cup. Big mistake, not because of the gelato, but because I had NO idea they do the most adorable flower/rose design on a cone. Super IG-worthy and honestly reason enough to come back, which I did! On my second visit, I went for the Small Signature, which comes topped with a macaron and your choice of 2 flavors. I only wanted Stracciatella they doubled up on that. The pistachio macaron was a touch softer than I prefer but still totally yums. The gelato itself? Absolutely delicious and honestly, it's hard to go wrong with good gelato! My husband got a Small Pistachio in a cup and I naturally had to sneak a taste. It was a lovely, well-balanced flavor - not overpowering at all, which is a win since pistachio can sometimes go too heavy. If I find myself in the area with a gelato craving, I'm absolutely swinging by for my fix!

What a great gelato in town!!! We live in SF but in outer rim area. We hardly come down here in downtown. My husband and I were craving ice cream and we found this place! The ice cream itself is so good! I love the Gianduja and Hazelnut which is soooooo good!!!! Service wise is great too! Val was helping us choose the flavors. She was very patient and very service oriented! Love her!!!! Thank you so much!!! We’ll come back!

Honestly the best gelato I have ever had. And I used to own an ice cream shop in Hawaii, i really know what I am talking about. We had crema de coffee and tiramisu flavors, and they were delicious. The fact that that they were shaped by a rose added to the experience. Highly recommend.

Came in around 9:30pm on a Fridatly, it wasn't very crowded and i was able to get my order very quickly. Food was lovely, i ordered their large signature which includes a macaron. I chose mango, strawberry, hazelnut and pistacho flavors. I had pistachio for the macaron too. Very yummy and pretty to look at. Service was great, the person making my cone was very patient as I chose the different flavors. Atmosphere was great, and good for groups of people to have a chat together.
