Dulce de leche

When the art of making an artisinal Italian gelato meets a typically South American recipe, the result is Dulce de Leche - a sweet gelato with a subtle hint of caramel.

Eaten mostly in South American countries, it is in Argentina where "Dulce de Leche" is considered a national symbol. According to legend, it was born by mistake in the 19th century with a pot of sugared milk being left forgotten on a flame. After several hours of cooking, the milk transforms into a delicious creamy caramel mixture.

Milk, sugar and lots of patience are the main ingredients of this flavour which brings back childhood memories.
